Mixed Bag for Lancashire

A mixed bag of fortunes for Lancashire, as we approach the semi-final stages of the 2017-2018 Championship.

The OPEN team and current holders of the championship trophy, are straight through to the semi-finals stages where they will meet Sussex.  In the other semi-final, Yorkshire play Middlesex.  Possibility of a repeat of last year’s final still on the cards.

The U180 team went down 10-6 to a strong Middlesex team, and went out at the QF stages this year.

The U160 team won their QF match against Nottinghamshire, full report here, and will meet Essex in the semi-final.  In the other sem-final is Yorkshire against Middlesex, so as with the OPEN a possibility of a repeat of last year’s final is on the cards.

The U140 team, and current holders of the title, went down at the QF stage losing to a strong Nottinghamshire team 9-7.  Nottinghamshire managed to get a team with average board of 135 out on Cup-Final and Royal Wedding day!

In the U120 section, Lancashire went out by the narrowest of margins, on board count to Norfolk, losing the top half 4-2, winning the bottom half 4-2 and going out with an honorable draw.

Finally, the U100 team had a bye and are into the semi-finals where they are likely to meet Warwickshire, who beat Essex 5.5 – 6.5.  However, there is an appeal under way and this could had an impact on the result.
